Steadfast Love: New Mercies Every Morning

Cleshe Rice Season 2 Episode 3

Send us a text

What does it truly mean to live in the steadfast love of God? Beyond the familiar phrases we often hear in church, there lies a profound truth that can transform our daily experience—God's mercies are brand new every morning, with no expiration date.

Taking us through the powerful words of Lamentations 3:22-23, this episode explores how God's love remains constant even when our emotions fluctuate. Unlike our human tendency to ride emotional rollercoasters, divine love doesn't shift with circumstances or fade when we make mistakes. It's a revolutionary concept in our performance-driven world: grace that renews itself daily regardless of yesterday's failures.

The practical application of this truth is life-changing. Before your feet hit the floor each morning, before tackling your to-do list or facing challenges, pausing to acknowledge this fresh mercy can completely transform your perspective. Throughout the day, God's grace appears in unexpected moments—a stranger's smile, a friend's kindness, a moment of peace amid chaos—if only we train ourselves to notice. As the Apostle Paul reminds us in Romans 8, absolutely nothing—not death, life, angels, rulers, present troubles, future worries, powers, heights, depths, or anything else in creation—can separate us from God's love.

Ready to experience this unchanging love in your own life? Join our community at Divine Harmony Faith and discover how resting in God's steadfast love can bring peace to your most chaotic days. Share this message with someone who needs to hear that no matter what they're facing, they are cherished beyond measure and never alone.

Speaker 1:

Now I know that life can sometimes be like a whirlwind. I say it all the time We've all been there. It all the time We've all been there. Between work, family bills, relationships and everything else life throws at us, it can often feel like the pace never slows down, like we are hamsters running on a wheel right. But in the middle of all this hustle and bustle, it's easy to forget about the constant, unshakable presence of God's love and grace in our lives. But today I want us to take a few moments to refocus and remember that God's love for you is steadfast and his grace is always available, no matter what you're facing. Let's start by thinking about something we hear often in church and in conversation with fellow believers, and that is God loves you and God's grace is enough. These phrases are so familiar, but how often do we really pause and reflect on their deep meaning? Sometimes we hear these words and nod along, but do we really feel the full grasp, the profound implication they hold for our daily lives? Do we really feel it? Do we understand it?

Speaker 1:

I want to take you to a scripture in the Old Testament, a book that isn't often talked about, but one that carries such deep insight. It's from the book of Lamentations, a prophetic book written during a time of great distress. In Lamentations 3.22.23, we read these powerful words the steadfast love of the Lord never ceases. His mercies never come to an end. They are new every morning. What an awesome truth that is. Think about it God's love is steadfast. It never ceases. That means, no matter what you're going through, no matter how many times you've stumbled, you've failed or fallen short, god's love for you remains. His love is unshakable. It's unwavering and everlasting. But there's more, guys. There's more to this verse. There's more that we benefit from. The verse also says that his mercies are new every morning. Can you just let that sink in? Every single day you get to experience fresh mercy. Thank you, father. There's no expiration date on grace, guys. I'll say that again there is no expiration date on God's grace, his mercy. They don't run out at the end of the week or after you've made a mistake. They're brand new every morning, every morning. What an incredible, incredible, refreshing thought that is. It means that no matter what happened yesterday, god's mercy is available today. That can change your entire perspective on life.

Speaker 1:

When we wake up each day, we often think about all the things we need to do. We make mental lists of tasks, responsibility and things we didn't finish yesterday. But what if we started each day differently? What if, before our feet even hit the floor, we reminded ourselves that God's grace is already here, that it's here for us. His love is already waiting for us, ready to meet us where we are waiting for us, ready to meet us where we are? Think about this before you jump into your to-do list, before you face your challenges or even the mundane task, take a moment to say a simple prayer. Thank you, lord, for the gift of this new day. Thank you for your love and your grace. It doesn't have to be anything fancy, it doesn't even have to be elaborate. Just a heartfelt thank you for his steadfast love can completely change the tone of your day. It can change it. You'd have a pep in your step, your mood would be different. Before the demands of your day take over, you can start with the assurance that God's love for you is unchanging. You don't have to earn his love. It's there every morning, waiting to envelop you. Imagine that you wake up every day and God's love and his mercies are just there, patiently waiting to fill you up so that you can start your day, so that you can walk this thing out with joy and peace and happiness. It's there every day. It renews every morning as you go through your day.

Speaker 1:

Be intentional about looking for moments of God's grace. Maybe it's in a smile of a stranger, in a simple act of kindness from a friend, or even in those brief moments of peace amidst the chaos of your day. His mercy often shows up in the smallest, most unexpected moments. So keep a keen eye, look out for it, watch for it, yearn for it, expect it, wait with expectancy, and God will show up. You will see it. You will see it, but you have to take the time to see it. You have to talk with God and spend time with him so that you're able to recognize it when it happens. He is always there, it is always there and he will reveal himself to you throughout the day. But it's easy to overlook when we're just caught up in the rush of daily life. But when you stop and notice, you'll begin to see God's presence everywhere. And here's the thing when you recognize his grace, pause for a moment to thank him. Thank him for his faithfulness, to thank him. Thank him for his faithfulness, for his presence and for the simple reminders that he's with you, guiding you every step of the way.

Speaker 1:

Guys, we are not alone on this journey. We have to remember that God is with us. He is guiding our footsteps. We have to remember what the word says. His word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path. He is with us every step of the way, guiding us, encouraging us, uplifting us. Even when we don't feel it, he is still there. We have to transition our thought process. When the emotions are not there or we don't feel him with us, because he is not just always a feeling, we have to transition our thought process and say OK, god, I don't feel like you're here today, but I know you are here. And then guess what? Eventually, you will feel him throughout the day. He is there, guiding us, and I know that all sounds good, but let's be real.

Speaker 1:

Life isn't always easy. I know that we all face challenges. I know that we all go through tough seasons. I do. I go through them too. Some days it feels like the weight of the world is on our shoulders. Maybe you are dealing with that right now. World is on our shoulders. Maybe you are dealing with that right now. Maybe you're dealing with loss, pain or facing uncertainty. I get it. I have been there. I am actually there right now, facing uncertainty. I know it can sometimes be hard to feel God's presence in the midst of it all, but I promise you what happens when life is hard, when everything feels heavy and we don't feel God's grace is enough. His love is still there, even though we can't see it or feel it. I want to encourage you with this.

Speaker 1:

God's love for us isn't based on our emotions or circumstances. His love is constant and unchanging. He is not like us. God is not like us when it comes to our emotions Today we're happy, tomorrow we're sad. Oh, this person said that. So it just changes our whole mood for the day. He's not on an emotional rollercoaster like we are. His love is constant and unchanging. It doesn't shift and it doesn't fade with our mistakes. Guys, he's not not loving on us if we don't do something. That's not how God works and we have to learn God to understand how he works. We have to read our word, get in the scriptures, learn his characteristics, learn his behaviors. We have to learn him. That's the only way we're going to experience his truths.

Speaker 1:

The Apostle Paul reminded me of a beautiful truth in Romans 8, 38, 39. Truth in Romans 8, 38, 39. I'm going to read it for you and it reads, for I am sure that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor rulers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor heights, nor depths, nor anything else in all creation will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus, our Lord. You hear what he reminds us of? Death, life, angel or rulers, things present and things to come can never separate us, never. I'm going to say it again, never separate us from the love of God. There's nothing, not the angels, not powers, not rulers, not heights, not depths. Nothing, no distance, nothing can separate us from the love of God, absolutely nothing. So not our mistakes, not our pain, not even our doubts, not our fears, nothing. His love is powerful, it's enduring and it always presents, always. Amen.

Speaker 1:

He is with you, especially in the moments when life feels overwhelming. He is with you, especially in the moments when you don't feel like he is. He is with you, especially in the moments when you are at your highest, when you are at your lowest. He is with you, your lowest, he is with you. Guys, today I want to encourage you to rest in this unshakable truth. God's love is steadfast. His mercies are new every morning. No matter what you're facing right now, god is right there beside you. You are not alone.

Speaker 1:

Let's just take a second together, inhale deeply and, as you exhale, just allow God's love to fill your heart. Let's just take a moment right now and let God's love fill your heart. Let it wash away your worries, let it calm your spirit. Allow his peace to rest upon you, knowing that you are cherished, you are valued and loved beyond measure. Let his spirit rest on you. Let it wash away your worries, your fear, your doubt, your uncertainty. Just take a moment and let him do it. Open your heart, open your mind, receive it. Let him enter your heart. He is here for you. That is what he's here for. Accept him, receive it, receive the love that God has for you, receive the peace that he has for you. Receive the peace that he has for you. Let him calm your spirit. Let's do that now.

Speaker 1:

Thank you, father, thank you, lord, god, for your calm and spirit. Thank you, lord, for entering us, filling us up with your peace, preparing us for the day. Lord, for entering us, filling us up with your peace, preparing us for the day. Lord, god. Thank you. We welcome you, heavenly Father. Enter us now. We receive you, lord God, with open arms. We receive you with open hearts and open minds. Enter us now, lord God. Thank you, jesus. Thank you, jesus.

Speaker 1:

As we close today's episode, I want to offer a prayer for you. No matter where you are, I want you to know that God is listening, he's ready to meet you where you are and he's here with you right now. Heavenly Father, we thank you for your steadfast love. We thank you for your mercies that are new every morning. I pray for everyone listening right now, lord, including myself. Fill our hearts with peace, comfort and the assurance that you are with all of us in every moment. For anyone who feels distant from you, I pray that they would feel your presence in a fresh way today, lord God, show them how near you are, heavenly Father, and help them to remember that nothing, nothing in this world, lord God, can separate them from your love. Heavenly Father, we trust you, lord, and we thank you for the grace you've poured out on us. In Jesus's name, amen and amen.

Speaker 1:

Before we end, guys, I want to give anyone who feels that tug in their heart an opportunity to know Jesus for themselves, whether you've strayed away from your first love or you've never encountered him before. I invite you to pray this prayer with me. Heavenly Father, I am a sinner. I recognize that you are the one true Lord and I need you in my life. I cannot do this on my own. Come into my heart, lord, renew a spirit within me. I repent here today and ask you to lead me in the way that I should go. In Jesus's name, amen and amen.

Speaker 1:
