Hey there, friends. How's everyone doing today? I know life can get pretty chaotic sometimes and it feels like there's always a million things pulling at our attention. But I'm so glad you're here, because we're about to take a moment to pause, breathe and dive into something that can bring real peace, and that's God's Word. Welcome back to Divine Harmony, her Voice in Faith.
Cleshe Rice :I'm your host, cliche Rice, and today we're going to talk about how we can find that peace we all need in the midst of life's busy noise. So I'm going to share three powerful scriptures with you today. Then we'll go back and break them down together. The first one is Psalms 119, 160, and I'm reading from the ESV translation the sum of your word is truth and every one of your righteous rules endures forever. The next scripture is Psalms 119, 164 through 165, and it reads seven times a day I praise you for your righteous rules. Great peace have those who love your law. Nothing can make them stumble. And finally, proverbs 3, 1 through 2,. My son, do not forget my teaching, but let your heart keep my commandments for length of days and years of life and peace they will add to you.
Cleshe Rice :So let's take a moment to reflect on these scriptures and understand the deep wisdom God is sharing with us. Understand the deep wisdom God is sharing with us, starting with Psalms 119 and 160,. The sum of your word is truth. For us believers, god's word should be the foundation of everything. It's the essence of Christ and the guide for how we should live our lives daily. His word is sacred, it's divine, it's trustworthy and authoritative. It's reflecting him, his nature and will. What's amazing is it doesn't change. It's reliable and it's his truth and ours to embrace. The next part of this verse and every one of your righteous rules endures forever reminds us that God's commands are timeless. They don't shift with culture, circumstance or even if you're having a bad day. They remain the same today, tomorrow and forever, unlike the ever-changing laws of philosophies of this world. You know God's principles stand firm for all eternity. This is so powerful because we can trust his word to guide us, knowing that it will never change. It speaks to us if we take the time to listen and reflect on it. We need to settle our hearts, quiet the world around us and open ourselves to hear from God. That is where the peace we long for comes from. Think about it when you prepare for an important job interview. You research the company. You figure out what they like, what they don't like. So you sound amazing in the job interview. Why don't we do the same thing with God's word when we want peace? Why are we not seeking the scriptures, trying to figure out what he likes, what he doesn't like?
Cleshe Rice :For me personally, god's word is the first thing I turn to in the morning and the last thing I reflect on before bed. His truth is my anchor and without it I feel off balance, like you would never believe. Now I understand if you're not there yet, and that's OK, right, everyone is at different stages of their walk with Christ or relationship with Christ. I can't get you there, but God can. All you need to do is seek his presence daily and let him do the rest. So if you don't feel like you feel like that right now, that's fine and it's okay. You'll get there. But I'm telling you for me, I have to read his word. If I don't, I feel off. I really do, and also the Holy Spirit reminds me that you haven't read your word today. That's why you feel like that. I get those quiet I guess you can call them nudges like time to read your scripture.
Cleshe Rice :So now let's move on to our next scripture. I'll read it again quickly. It's Psalms 119, 164 through 165, and it states seven times a day, I praise you for your righteous rules. Great peace have those who love your law. Nothing can make them stumble. This verse tells us that we should praise God seven times a day. Think about that for a second. It's not just about formal prayers or quiet moments. It's about praising God throughout the day, in your car, at work, while you're washing dishes, changing diapers, whatever you're doing. Now don't get me wrong. I'm not bending on knees and holier than thou every single second of the day, but I found that when I praise God throughout my busy day, even just for a few seconds, thanking him for the little things like air and water, or simply just telling him how much I love him, I feel a deep sense of peace. This helps me just tackle the noise and stress of the day with a calm spirit. You know. It also keeps God at the forefront of my mind. I'm constantly thinking about him, so any negative thoughts or anything that come into my head, they're casted out immediately because I constantly have God at the forefront of my mind, strengthening us to navigate challenges without being shaken.
Cleshe Rice :I'll share a personal story real quick. I was making breakfast for my daughter, because this is definitely this coming to my mind right now, so I want to share it. I was making breakfast for my daughter, alicia right, who's two years old. She was patiently waiting in her high chair for her pancakes and eggs. She's a good eater. Okay, this girl eats good every day. She's not skipping a meal, she's not. She'll definitely let you know when it's time to eat. She definitely loves her stomach. But she just kept yelling over and over mommy, I want apple juice now. And I was like what is going on with her?
Cleshe Rice :And now, as a mom, I was juggling breakfast, getting us ready for the day, packing her bag to go to early childhood developments, the Judy Center. Shout out to them, they're amazing. And I was pumped. There were a million thoughts in my mind just going, going, going. So I snapped a little and I turned around and I said, okay, alicia, one minute. And immediately I felt guilty, immediately. So I paused and I prayed and I said God, give me your peace. And in that, in that moment, alicia turned around with her little sweet voice and said mommy, are you sad? I couldn't help but laugh and I said no, baby, I'm not sad, because I love you and God loves you too. And just like that, peace flooded my heart and I was able to finish my morning calmly, without frustration, and I mean, it was like within a split second. I know I'm telling you guys this story and it sounds like it was a long time, but it was quick, it happened so fast. I just said God, I need your peace. And as soon as I said that, she said mommy, are you sad? And I just had to bust out laughing like Lord, you're moving fast.
Cleshe Rice :So I say that to say that the power of praising God throughout the day, it gives you peace and nothing can make you stumble, not a crying toddler, a stressful workday or even a rude person on the road, because you know how we get when people cut us off in traffic when we're trying to get somewhere. Let's be real. So remember, it's not just about reading God's word, but allowing it to fill our hearts and minds. In this busy world it's so easy to feel overwhelmed, you know, unappreciative, but God's word can calm the storm with us when we start each day with his promises, we can face any challenges with a peaceful heart.
Cleshe Rice :Now our last scripture. I don't really have to go into. It's the icing on the cake and it's Proverbs 3, 1 through 2. My son, do not forget my teaching, but let your heart keep my commandments for length of days and years of life and peace. They will add to you. It's simple. I'm going to put it in cliches terms. They will add to you. It's simple. I'm going to put it in cliches terms.
Cleshe Rice :Read your Bible, focus on the word, seek his face every day, and length of days and years of life and peace, they will be added onto you. So, no matter what's going on in your day, if you seek his face, you will have peace. So today, take a moment to open your bible and let god's word speak to you. His peace is available to you always. Let that peace be your anchor. So I'd like to do our closing prayer.
Cleshe Rice :Heavenly father, I come before you today asking that you quiet the noise of the world around my listeners. Give them the space to not only praise you, father, throughout the day, but also the time to reflect on your word. May they experience the peace that comes from only knowing your word is eternal, unchanging. It will never allow them to stumble, no matter the circumstance. Let your beautiful peace surround them, rest upon them and guard them. Today, in the wonderful, majestic and matchless name of our Lord Jesus Christ, I pray Amen and amen.
Cleshe Rice :Well, thank you so much for joining me today on Divine Harmony, her Voice of Faith.
